Mangaluru: “BJP had promised that it would bring the black money from the Swiss Banks, if voted to power. But it seems to have forgotten its own promise and has taken a large sum of money from RBI. The government should reveal to the public the reason for taking the money and where it has been spent. It is the right of every individual to know the facts,” demanded former minister and MLA U T Khader, attacking the central government for taking Rs 1.75 lakh crore from the Reserve Bank of India instead of getting back black money from Swiss Banks as promised.
He pointed out that since BJP came to power in the Union, the growth of the country’s economy has slumped and no investors have come forward to invest in the country. The intelligence department has also failed miserably since there are rumours claiming that some terrorists have entered the coastal region.
“If the government has taken the utmost care when it comes to security measures, how can a terror group enter the coastal region? “ asked the MLA.
Blaming the state’s BJP MLAs and MPs at failing to convince the union government to release compensation for the flood victims Mr Khader said, “Even though a team from the union government visited the state to assess property damage suffered during the recent floods, they failed to visit our district. Over 27 families of Mandara in Pacchanadyhave become homeless since the garbage landslide that occurred at the dumping yard. Although a month has passed, the district administration has failed to take it seriously. The residents of the area are still confused on if whether or not they will be able to live on their own land. The government should respond to their grievances immediately,” urged the MLA.
