Karwar: A case has been enrolled against a revenue department official for diverting state income for personal use after the misappropriation became exposed amid audit.
Accused Kishore Baadkar had redirected Rs 1.35 Crore in cash and Rs 2.35 Crore gathered as demand drafts for personal use between June 2017 and April 2018.
Baadkar had figured out how to redirect the revenue by tricking the system and managed to deposit just Rs 41 Lakh into the state treasury account. As indicated by the sources, all types of income accumulation must be first stored in the Treasury-2, which is approved by the Cauvery software utilizing the significant store challans and records. The said sum must be eventually kept into the state treasury account by keeping the same in the assigned bank. The whole technique is online based, where the system at the main treasury keeps tab on all transactions. It isn’t yet clear how the denounced official Baadkar figured out how to trick the system, which has all the earmarks of being foolproof.
Amid audit, when the collection sum did not count with the deposits, the misappropriation became visible and the charged Baadkar was kept under suspension immediately.
Police enlisted a case under section 409C in light of a complaint recorded by the officeholder Sub-registrar Ariyappa Chima Naik and are examining further into the theft of state income by the accused authority.
