Revolutionizing Rail travel: Indian Railways introduces LHB coaches on popular routes

In a significant move to enhance passenger safety and comfort, the Indian Railways will upgrade the conventional rake of several key trains to Linke-Hofmann-Busch (LHB) coaches. The following changes are set to take effect in February 2025:
1. Train No. 16347 (Thiruvananthapuram Central – Mangaluru Central Express) will be equipped with LHB coaches starting 16th February 2025.
2. Train No. 16348 (Mangaluru Central – Thiruvananthapuram Central Express) will transition to LHB coaches on 19th February 2025.
3. Train No. 12620 (Mangaluru Central – Lokmanya Tilak (T) Matsyagandha Superfast Express) will also begin operating with LHB coaches from 17th February 2025.
4. Train No. 12619 (Lokmanya Tilak (T) – Mangaluru Central Matsyagandha Superfast Express) will convert to LHB coaches on 18th February 2025.
With the conversion to LHB coaches, the composition of the Thiruvananthapuram Central – Mangaluru Central Express and the Matsyagandha Superfast Express will be revised to include:
– 4 Two-Tier AC Coaches
– 2 Three-Tier AC Coaches
– 2 Three-Tier AC Economy Coaches
– 8 Sleeper Class Coaches
– 4 General Second Class Coaches
– 1 Brake Van cum Luggage Second Class Coach (Divyangjan Friendly)
– 1 Generator Car Coach
This upgrade is part of the Indian Railways’ ongoing efforts to improve the overall travel experience for passengers, ensuring safer and more comfortable journeys.
