Rider dies after two bike collide head-on at Belman

Karkala: A youth lost his life on the spot in a bike accident that occurred near Belman junction on Tuesday May 28th. The deceased is identified as Dinesh Acharya (36), a resident of Sooda. The deceased is survived by his wife and two children.

Dinesh was attempting to overtake a bus near Adapaddy when he collided head-on on to a bike coming from the opposite direction and was thrown to the road. Almost instantaneously, the bus which Mr Acharya was attempting to overtake went over his head killing him on the spot.

Meanwhile, the biker coming from the opposite direction has suffered grievous injures and has been admitted to a private hospital in Udupi by Shirva police. Karkala rural police station has registered a case in this regard.
