Rishab Shetty announces audition call for upcoming ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’

Bengaluru: The muhurat of Rishab Shetty’s “Kantara A Legend: Chapter 1 “, a prequel to the superhit Kantara, has been recently held and the first look has received a great response from fans.

Now the film team has released a casting call for budding actors for roles in the movie.

In a post on X, Rishab Shetty wrote “Step into the Spotlight! #KantaraChapter1 Auditions Open – Apply at https://kantara.film for Your Shot at Fame. Shortlisted talents will be called for in person auditions.”

“I am currently searching for heroes, heroines, and other roles. Priority is given to Kannada artists. The search for new talents to act in the movie is ongoing. Artists from coastal and other regions are also involved,” Rishab Shetty had previously said.

The team is on the lookout for,  male actors aged between 30 to 60 years of age, and female actors in the 18-60 age group are needed, says Rishab Shetty’s post.

“Newcomers with acting passion are also encouraged” to apply for the roles, the post further adds. The link for the auditions will open till December 14, 2023.

“Kantara: Chapter 1” is said to explore the the essence of Panjurli deity and its origin stories. It’s rumored to be a tale from the 301-400 AD era. Produced by Hombale Films, the movies would be released in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Hindi, Bengali, and English languages.
