River Festival from today in M’luru

Mangaluru: With the aim to promote river tourism the district administration has organized a ‘River Festival’ on Jan 12-13. The two day festival will be held in Kuloor region along the coasts of Phalguni River flowing in Mangaluru.
The festival has been organized within an area of 20-23 kms encompassing Kuloor – Bangrakuloor – Sultan Battery and the festival will include boating and various other types of water sports and attractions. The two day festival will be held from 8 am in the morning to 8 pm in the night.
In the backdrop of the River Festival, the river banks of Palguni River near Kuloor Bridge have been decorated and is attracting people. The back waters are dotted with jet skis and ferries.
The festival at Kuloor will be inaugurated by the district in-charge minister U T Khader at 8:15 am on Jan 12th. Stage has been set up on the river bank for the exhibition of arts during the two days of the festival. After the inauguration at Kuloor, the main programme will be held at Bangrakuloor. Flee market, food festival, cultural programme and other attractive programmes have been organized in an area of 23 acres of government land.
