Road, bridge repair: Rs 27.14 crore released for DK district

Mangaluru: In the backdrop of heavy rains which lashed the district in the month of August of 2019-20 damaging roads in the district, a grant of Rs 27.14 crore has been approved for the repair of the damaged main roads, state highways and bridges in the district.

Mangaluru, Bantwal, Puttur, Belthangady and Sullia sub-divisions come under the DK PWD Mangaluru division and a action plan has been created equal distribution of the grant are per the individual requirements.

As per the 27.14 crore action plan containing 198 works, Rs 10.32 crore has been set aside for 71 works concerning the repair of state highways and bridges within Mangaluru division and Rs 16.83 crore will be used for 127 works relating the repair of the main roads and bridges in the district. Already the repair work is in progress informed Mangaluru PWD, ports and inland water transport department engineer in a press release.
