Road rage: Sword-wielding gang tails & vandalises scientist’s car in Bengaluru

In an incident of road rage reported from Bengaluru, four bike-borne persons tailed a scientist’s car and shattered its back windshield by using swords.
The incident took place at around 12.45 am on August 24 at Ravuthanahalli Road.
Taking to social media platform X, the victim, Ashutosh Singh, a scientist at the Centre for Nano and Soft Matter Sciences (CeNS), wrote “A narrow escape from local goons on Aug 24, 12:45 AM at Rauthanahalli Main road. They tried stopping my car, chased me with swords, shattering back glass. Traumatized by the delayed police response. Seeking justice, lodging FIR at Madanayakanahalli PS today. Urgent action is needed.”
Responding to Singh’s post, Alok Kumar, Additional Director General of Police, Traffic and Road Safety, Karnataka termed the incident as serious and said that he had directed the authorities to take strict action against the miscreants.
Accordingly, Madanayakanahalli Police registered an FIR in the case. Police have examined the CCTV footage to identify the miscreants and have assured of nabbing them soon.
