Mangaluru: Street side vendors near the State Bank area were evicted by Mangaluru City Corporation on Tuesday, July 31st.
This eviction drive by the MCC confronted much resentment from the road side vendors who alleged that the MCC had taken this action without giving any prior notice. They complained that the MCC had failed to provide proper amenities at the street vendor’s zone making it useless.
The drive cleared all the illegal petty shops throughout the State Bank area including near the city bus stop. The drive also cleared illegal hoardings and banners in the area. A JCB was employed to clear the illegal structures and the debris and goods were loaded on to a truck and taken away.
