Udupi: A portion of a road at Doopadakatte in Bhairampalli Gram Panchayat here was washed away in the flash floods owing to the incessant rainfall lashing across several parts of Udupi on Tuesday, October 15.
Vehicular movement on this road, which offers connectivity between Perdooru and Harikhandige was disrupted owing to the road damage.
The meteorological department had sounded a yellow alert for two days, starting from October 15 in Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, and Uttara Kannada districts.
Normal life was thrown out of gear as a result of moderate to heavy rainfall witnessed in parts of Dakshina Kannada district, Brahmavara, Hiriyadka, Byndoor, Kundapura and Hebri.
