Romancing the roads: Couple completes one of the fastest all-India bike tour during pandemic

Bengaluru: A couple who completed one of the fastest all-India rides covering 28 state capitals and six union territories on KTM Duke 390 proved that sky is the limit in today’s world.

Sameera Dahiya (33) and Praveen Ramakrishnan (40), a biker couple have covered 16,300kms in 24 days i.e. from November 28 to December 22.

Sameera, who was an IT professional quit her job in 2016 to continue biking. She trains women to ride motorcycles in Bengaluru where as Praveen has been riding for the last 24 years.

Reportedly, the couple has been planning this tour since January and did research on the same, got in touch with various organizations, later confirming the routes.

The couple then got permission from every state and took the mandatory Covid-19 test before the ride, as well as in Manipur and Mizoram border. They even mentioned getting support from Lalbiaksangi,  Home secretary of Mizoram as the the lockdown rules were strict.

The couple rode around 700kms per day for about 13-16 hours and got sufficient rest. Sameera informed that they had started working out six months prior to the trip and had lost about 20kgs. Further adding she said that they relied heavily on energy bars and drinks and made sure that they were hydrated.

However, the record confirmation is awaited.
