Bengaluru: Defending his suggestion to rename Indira Canteens BJP national chief secretary C T Ravi on Thursday said that the Congress party can open Indira canteen in their party office.
Stating that the contributions of Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi will be remembered always, CT Ravi attacked the Congress saying that intention of announcing the flagship food subsidy programme to fill their ATMs rather than love for former Prime Minister.
It maybe recalled that CT Ravi has appealed to Chief Minister BS Bommai to rename Indira Canteens across Karnataka as Annapoorneshwari Canteen. “Don’t see any reason why Kannadigas should be reminded of the dark days of Emergency while they are having food,” the BJP leader had tweeted.
Former chief minister Siddaramaiah who had announced the flagship food subsidy programme during his tenure had opposed CT Ravi’s proposal terming it petty politics.
