‘Rowdy Parade’ conducted by police ahead of LS polls

Mangaluru: The city police held a parade of more than 200 rowdy sheeters of the city belonging to 17 police stations under the commissionerate limits at the police grounds in the city on Thursday March 24th. The parade was conducted as a precautionary measure to the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Senior police officials, under the leadership of city police commissioner Sandeep Patil, warned the gangsters against any act to disturb the social harmony of the city. Besides the warnings, a case was registered as a step to maintain peace during the elections.
Meanwhile the police also conducted raids on the houses of notorious rowdies of the city. Two swords were recovered from the house of a rowdy during the raid. The police also seized two motorbikes and a Scorpio car being used by Kodikere Manoj and Chethan without documents.
