Rowdy-sheeter Farooq murder case: Police arrest two absconding accused

Mangaluru: The two accused in Chenna Farooq alias Ummar Farooq murder case, who assaulted police personnel when they were being placed under arrest at Rekhya, Beltangady on October 24 were finally arrested.

The arrested are Ibrahim Khalil and Hafeez.

The duo had also assaulted police personnel when they were being placed under arrest at Rekhya, Beltangady on October 24.  Evading the arrest, they had fled the scene after attacking Bantwal rural PSI Prasanna.

A special team was then formed to arrest the two accused who had escaped after assaulting the police and the officials were successful in arresting the accused.

Rowdy-sheeter Umar Farooq was hacked to death by a gang in Bogodi, Melkar with machetes. Kalladka resident Farooq who was also known as Chenne Farooq had several cases pending against him in Bantwal police station.

Due to the severity of his injuries, Farooq had died on the way to the hospital.
