Royal family posts pictures of the Queen and Prince Philip

Prince Philip, husband to Queen Elizabeth II died on April 9. A photograph of the couple was shared on the Royal Family Instagram on Saturday, April 10.

Marking the Duke’s death, the 2016 portrait shows the couple smiling together. It was shot by Annie Liebovitz, an American photographer, and is captioned with a 1997 quote by the Queen.

The quote reads, “He has, quite simply, been my strength and stay all these years, and I and his whole family, and this and many other countries, owe him a debt greater than he would ever claim, or we shall ever know,”
