Rs 1 lakh loan of farmers who died due to COVID-19 to be waived, says MLA Prakash

Mysuru: Kadur MLA and president of the Karnataka State Co-operative Apex Bank Limited Belli Prakash has said that if a member of a co-operative society died due to COVID-19 then their loans would be waived.

He said that a decision regarding this was made in a recent meeting. Adding that loans of upto Rs 1 lakh will be waived.

“The family members of a farmer who died of COVID-19 can apply for the waiver in their nearest DCC banks,” he said.

Minister of Co-operation ST Somashekhar said that the chief minister will be issuing an official order on the loan waiver.
