Rs 35 lakh worth gold ornaments stolen from apartment in Bendore

Mangaluru: Gold ornaments worth Rs 35 lakh and Rs 65,000 in cash was stolen by thieves from the apartment of Nityananda Shetty, located on the sixth floor of a residential complex near SCS Hospital of Bendore in the city.

Apparently, Nityananda Shetty and his family had gone out of town on September 8 and the came to light only on September 13, when they were back in town.

Reportedly, the thieves gained access into the house by breaking the grills of the ventilator, then broke open the lock of the locker and stole the gold ornaments as well as cash, inform sources.

A case in this connection is registered in the Kadri police station according to the complaint given by Anita Shetty, wife of Nityananda Shetty.
