Rs 806 Crore released for Mangaluru smart city project

Karnataka Urban Development Minister BS Suresh informed that a substantial grant of Rs 806 crore has been released for the Mangaluru Smart City project.

The minister provided this information in response to a query raised by MLC Manjunath Bhandari during the question hour of the Legislative Council.

Financial grants worth Rs 390 crore from the central government and Rs 414 crore from the state government, totaling Rs 806 crores, have been sanctioned for Mangaluru Smart City projects. It is noteworthy that 92 percent of the allocated grant, equivalent to Rs 739.39 crore, has been utilized, showcasing significant economic progress.

Under the Smart City project, work orders have been issued for 53 works after the completion of the tender process.  Of these, 30 have been successfully completed, while 20 are currently in progress. Additionally, plans are underway to commence three more projects in the near future, the minister added.
