Bengaluru: To automate operations in Regional Transport Offices (RTOs), the Karnataka Transport Department is planning to implement ‘Vahan 4.0’ software.
The software will help people apply for several services online.
The project has been designed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC) will also consolidate a database for RTOs of all states on a common and centralized platform.
Transport Secretary B Basavaraju gave a green signal for the transition at Ramangar RTO office on Tuesday.
“The new software allows people to get services at their homes. On an average, Ramanagar RTO registers 120 vehicles every day. The number for the entire state is 4,000,” he said.
