Ruckus at Wenlock hospital; 6 arrested

Mangaluru: Six persons were arrested by the Mangaluru South police on charges of causing disturbance at the district Government Wenlock Hospital. The arrested are identified as Sharan, Brijesh, Anantaprasad, Avinash Pinto, Harish and Mahesh.

Apparently, a group of about fifty men had created ruckus at the hospital alleging that their injured friends were not being given timely treatment. The hospital authorities in their complaint allege that the mob used abusive language with the on-duty hospital staff and even damaged hospital property.

Based on the complaint, the police have registered a under IPC Section 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), and Karnataka Prohibition of Violence against Medicare Service Personnel and Damage to Property in Medicare Service Institutions Act, 2009 against the accused.
