Mangaluru: Several autorickshaw drivers and members of Tulunadu Rakshana Vedike held a protest outside the DC office on Monday
The protest was held demanding the district administration to let the rural autorickshaw to enter the city limits.
The protestors requested to reconsider the minimum educational qualifications for auto drivers and asked an insurance cover for the ones working on night shifts.
The protestors claimed that passengers take an auto from rural areas while travelling to Mangaluru, but when these autos get into the city they get fined by the police or a complaint is raised.
Addressing the gathering Yogish Shetty said”The RTA should amend its notification regarding bifurcation of autorickshaw permits into the city and rural areas,”
