Russian military cadets sing Mohammed Rafi’s song Aye Watan at Moscow event

A video of Russian military cadets singing Aye Watan – a patriotic song from the 1965 film Shaheed – has gone viral on social media. The 27-second video has been shared on Twitter by news agency ANI.
The military cadets sang Aye Watan during an event in Moscow. Brigadier Rajesh Pushkar, Military Advisor at the Indian Embassy in Moscow, also made an appearance in the video as he sang along with the cadets.

The internet is quite emotional after watching the video as it garnered almost 7,000 likes and has been shared frequently as well. The clip has been viewed over 37,000 times so far. Netizens wrote about it in the comments section and said that the video left them “teary-eyed”.
“Feeling proud,” a user said while another added, “This is really so tearful. Even to listen to this song! And when it’s coming from the mouths of these young cadets, even though they are Russians, its impact becomes million times.”
Mohammed Rafi provided vocals to Aye Watan and Prem Dhawan composed it. Shaheed starred Manoj Kumar and Prem Chopra in the pivotal roles.
