New Delhi: Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin confirmed that he has tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday, April 30.
Mishustin also informed President Vladimir Putin that he will self-isolate. First Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov will temporarily perform Mishustin’s duties, but the prime minister said on Thursday that he would stay in touch on key issues.
During a video call, Mr. Putin informed that Mr. Mishustin would continue taking part in drafting policies to shore up the Russian economy, which has been hurt by the virus pandemic.
Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi on Friday hoped that Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin recovered soon from the novel coronavirus.
“My best wishes to Russian PM Mishustin for early recovery and good health,” Modi tweeted in Russian and English. “We stand with our close friend Russia in efforts to defeat the COVID-19 pandemic.”
