Sabarimala row: KSRTC suffers Rs 7 lakh in losses

Mangaluru: In the backdrop of the violence and unstable situation in Kerala in connection to the Sabarimala issue, all KSRTC buses plying towards Kerala from its divisions in Mangaluru and Puttur have been stopped.

Along with Kasaragod, 43 other trips to Kerala have been halted which has consequently leading to a loss of Rs 6 lakh. In the same way, 24 trips to Kerala from the Puttur division of KSRTC have been stopped causing another loss of Rs 1,36 lakh.

Moreorless 92 KSRTC bus trips have been cancelled in the state causing close to Rs 10 lakh in losses. In the backdrop of the bandh in Kerala, no government buses are plying from Kasaragod to Puttur or Mangaluru. Taking a look at the situation on Friday, the decision has been taken, inform sources form the institution.
