Saffron flag remarks: Siddu says sedition should be filed against Eshwarappa

Bengaluru: Stirring up the saffron flag controversy once again, Leader of Opposition in Assembly Siddaramaiah said that a sedition case should be filed against the Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj K S Eshwarappa.
“A sedition case should be filed against the Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj K S Eshwarappa for his purported claim of hoisting a saffron flag at the Red Fort,” said former chief minister.
Siddaramaiah further demaned, “Chief Minister Basawaraj Bommai should also sack Eshwarappa from the Cabinet. He has no right to continue as a minister after what he has said,” added the Congress leader.
Siddaramaiah referred to the farmers’ agitations and said that sedition cases were filed against them for hoisting their flag at the Red Fort. Similar action should be taken against Eshwarappa, he demanded.
KS Eshwarappa landed in another controversy on February 9 after stating that ‘Bhagwa dhwaj’ (saffron flag), may become the national flag of India sometime in the future.
