Sahyadri Whiz-Quiz grand finale to be held on March 6

Mangaluru: Department of Business Administration of Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management will be organising “Sahyadri Whiz-Quiz 2020′ a grand finale quiz competition on Friday, March 6 in the Sahyadri Campus.

This event is for undergraduates to create a fun-filled atmosphere for learning and acquiring general knowledge about current events in business world.

The main aim of the event is to motivate students to bring themselves up-to-date with the latest news and other emerging developments in the areas of business, history, marketing, HR, finance, politics, entertainment, literature and Indian economy.

The programme is designed in two phases – College round and Sahyadri Campus round. College round of the quiz was conducted during the month of February and March 2020 in selected 50 colleges in six divisions of Mangaluru City, outside Mangaluru, Udupi, Kodagu, Uttar Kannada, Belgaum, and Kasargod/Kannur. Teams consisting of 3 members from final year graduation are eligible to participate in the college round.

Around 9000 students participated in the first round of quiz out of which around 1000 students are selected for Grand Finale of Sahyadri Whiz Quiz scheduled on Mar 6 at Sahyadri campus.

The grand finale of Sahyadri Whiz Quiz will begin with an inauguration programme at 9:30 am.

Praveen Kamath Kumbla, General Manager & HR Head, Global Delivery and Enablement, Wipro Limited, will be the chief guest for the programme.

Prakyath Bhandary, associate, People & Culture Team, Grant Thornton LLP, Bengaluru will be the alumni guest, alumni of our college.

After the brief inaugural, two rounds of preliminary quizzes and final round will be conducted.

In the final round, the winners will be awarded with cash prizes Rs 25,000, Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000 for first, second and third prize respectively.

Jayaraj B Rai, chairman, Sri Ramakrishna Credit Co-Op. Society Ltd. Mangaluru, and Divakar Kadri, chairman, NIPM, Mangaluru Chapter, general manager, Cardolite, Mangaluru, will be the chief guest for the valedictory programme.

Sri Ramakrishna Credit Co-Operative Society Ltd will be sponsoring the prize money. This is going to be the 6th edition of Sahyadri Whiz-Quiz.
