Sakleshpur: Another landslide on NH75

Sakleshpur: Another landslide occurred on the National Highway 75 near Kollahalli on Wednesday, during the incessant rains that lashed the Malnad region.
Due to heavy rainfall, the concrete crash barrier near Kollahalli has collapsed. The road, constructed with over 25 feet of soil, is eroding due to the lack of a proper retaining wall.
The slope beyond the barrier, spanning 500 meters along the road, is collapsing, and there is a concern that one section of the four-lane concrete road might wash away if the rain intensifies.
There are allegations that unscientific and substandard construction work is causing the road to collapse. On Tuesday, a landslide had occurred on the national highway near Gulgalale in the same taluk.
