Sakleshpur: Landslide halts Bengaluru-Mangaluru rail traffic again

A landslide on the railway tracks near Achangi-Doddanagara in Sakleshpur Taluk on Friday, August 16, has once again disrupted train services between Bengaluru and Mangaluru, causing significant inconvenience to passengers.
As a result of the landslide, the Yeshwantpur-Karwar train was delayed near Ballupete, leaving passengers stranded and struggling to find alternative routes.
Just a week earlier, on August 10, a similar landslide had occurred at the same location, leading to a temporary suspension of train services. Although the debris was cleared and train operations resumed, another landslide has now blocked the tracks.
Railway officials have rushed to the Achangi-Doddanagara area, where efforts are ongoing to clear the debris from the tracks and restore train services.
This incident follows a major landslide on July 26 near Yedakumeri and Kadagaravalli in Hassan district, which led to the cancellation of 12 train services .
