The mishap occurred near the double cross of Shiradighat road within the taluk, halting traffic and prompting a swift response from emergency services.

Reportedly, the driver lost control at a sharp turn, causing the tanker to overturn and leaking gas. As a safety measure, authorities stopped all traffic in the area. Emergency teams, including the fire brigade and police from Mangaluru, rushed to the scene to help.

To keep people safe, the road had to be closed until the gas could be cleared. Commuters heading to places like Mangaluru and Dharmasthala were told to take different routes. Those going from Mangaluru to Hassan or Bengaluru were directed to go through Gundya Bisile and Charmadi.

Those traveling from Sakaleshpur to Mangaluru, are advised to go via Hanubalu – Mudigere route.
