“Sand Bazaar” mobile app for sand procurement!

Mangaluru: Customers who need sand for building construction no longer need to go in search of sand. The district administration has come to the assistance of the citizens by releasing “Sand Bazaar” mobile app. Now the customer can book the amount of sand he requires from his fingertips. The app has received good response from the public. Already 43 people have booked for and 18 people have already received their consignment.
How to book?
The customers must download ‘Sand Bazaar’ app onto their mobile phones. Later, all information including address and where the san needs to be delivered must be filled. Along with Aadhaar number, information regarding the closest sand depot must be sent. On this occasion an OTP will be sent and the information regarding the charges for the transportation of the sand. This payment can be done through PayTM or net banking. Soon after payment a message will be sent to the mobile which must be brought to the notice of the concerned sand depot. Besides the depot too will receive a message from the control room. Sand transport will be conducted based on this.
The district administration has taken this action to maintain transparency in transaction, manage fall and rise in prices and the trouble of middlemen. From registering for sand booking to payment, vehicle booking and tracking the status of sand transporting sand is available in ‘Sand Bazaar’ app making it convenient for the people. The information regarding booking, customer and sand depot will be available through ‘Google Map View’.
He sand booked through the app must be transported by the lorry within the prescribed time limit. The delivery cannot be delayed for any reason. If in case there is a delay, action will be taken against such a lorry. If the offence is repeated three times, the lorry will be blacklisted, informed the district administration.

‘Sand Bazaar’ app has been created with the slogan ‘Shore to every door’. This plan is the first of its kind experiment in the entire state and will be managed by the Mines and Geology Department.
