Dakshina Kannada administration has introduced a new app to solve the confusion and problem regarding sand procurement. Initially being implemented in the Mangaluru CRZ limits, it will soon cover the entire district.

Those in need of sand will only have to first download the app. Then they will have to provide their complete address and address where the sand should be provided. They also need to provide their Aadhaar number and the nearest sand deck.

The aim is to maintain transparency

“The ‘Sand Bazaar’ app has been created to maintain transparency in sand mining and also to simplify its management. This will be started soon. Through this, the customers will procure sand easily,” informed Sasikanth Senthil, Deputy Commissioner, DK

What is this app?

‘Sand Bazaar’ app has been created with the slogan “Shore to Every Door”. The aim of the app is to simply and make it convenient to transport the sand to the customer. The district administration has decided upon the price of the sand based on which the requirements are being fulfilled. This new idea is a first time experiment in the state. The app is managed by the Mines and Geology Department.
