Bengaluru: The Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) test report of actresses Ragini Dwivedi and Sanjjanaa Galrani, which was received by the CCB police officials after 10 months, reportedly states that both of them had consumed drugs.
The report from the Hyderabad FSL laboratory states that the samples sent to them confirmed that Sanjjanaa, Ragini Dwivedi and their associates Viren Khanna, Ravi Shankar, Loom Pepper and Rahul Tonse had consumed drugs.
CCB Joint Commissioner of Police Sandeep Patil said, “Only blood and urine samples are usually sent for testing in drugs cases. But these are effective only if they are tested within a couple of days of consumption by the subject. In a lot of cases, the accused are arrested late. In such a situation, the report comes negative and they are released. So the hair of the accused in this case was sent to Hyderabad CFSL for testing last year. Now the report received states that it is positive for drugs.”
The CCB officials will hand over the FSL report to the court soon.
On September 14, 2020, actress Ragini Dwivedi was jailed for consuming and dealing with drugs. She was remanded in custody for 140 days and was granted bail by the Supreme Court on January 21, 2021. On January 25, she was released from jail.
Sanjjanaa Galrani, who was jailed on September 16, 2020, on the same charges, was released from Parappana Agrahara jail on December 11, 2020. She was in jail for 56 days and was released on conditional bail following a serious illness.
