Bengaluru: After a roller-coaster ride of Covid-19 for the cinema industry, especially Sandalwood, has finally had a breather.
Sandalwood has reached “Century” this year with the release of 100th cinema today. The 100th movie is Bairagee of “Hattrick Hero” Dr Shivarajkumar.
It can be observed that, in a span of six months this year, the industry has seen big success like “Rocking Star” Yash starrer “KGF Chapter 2”, Rakshith Shetty starrer “777 Charlie”, “Power Star” late Puneeth Rajkumar starrer “James”.
If observed not all the movies released this year have done well in the box office. Some were excellent, some others good, and a few average movies. The covid phase also led to movies being released on OTT platforms. This trend has now picked up in Sandalwood, as the response to it has been good by the viewers.
Notably, although 100 movies are being released in the first half of this year, the numbers are still comparatively less when compared to the pre-covid period.
