Bengaluru: The senior officials from Bengaluru prison, who appeared before the members of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Karnataka Legislative Assembly, admitted that both Sasikala and Abdul Karim Telgi were given special treatment inside the jail.
The Public Accounts committee headed by BJP MLA and former home minister R Ashok has asked the officials to submit a report within 15 days.
After the meeting, the Chairman of Public Accounts Committee, R Ashok said, “The reports submitted by Roopa and the members of the Public Accounts Committee seem to match, thus proving the accusation. The prison officials have also agreed that the report of DIG Roopa is true.”
“We have questioned the prison officials for not fixing the network jammer inside the prison to prevent the mobile usage. If only they had carried out those recommendations these violations would not have happened. We have given 15 days of time and demanded an explanation. We have also insisted them to quickly solve the issues inside the prison” he added.
