Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary on Tuesday stated that already scheduled religious events and ceremonies will not stopped but must be organised as per COVID-19 guidelines.
The minister’s statement comes after the district administration on March 30 issued an order imposing Section 144(3) in the district causing confusion among the organisers of Yakshagana, Kola, Nema and temple poojas who had already planned the events.
“No more than 500 people must gather at an event organised on open grounds. It will be the responsibility of the general public to maintain distancing and mandatorily wear masks,” the minister’s statement said.
