Scooterist flung 25ft into air after being hit by speeding car, dies enroute to hospital

Kaup: A 74-year-old man was killed in a car-bike collision at Kelagina Pete, Padubidri on Tuesday November 16.

The deceased identified as Balakrishna Bhat (74), a resident of Padebettu was flung 25 feet into the air after a speeding car collided with his scooter. He was bleeding profusely due to the injuries sustained in the mishap and locals immediately rushed to a nearby hospital. Bhat however died en route to the hospital.

Padubidri police have registered a case in this regard.

Meanwhile, residents here expressed concern that most accident victims have lost their lives due to the absence of 108 ambulance services in Padubidri and surrounding areas.
