Seers facing infidelity charges to be expelled from Sanatana Dharma Samvardhini Sabha

Bengaluru: The Seers and heads of mutts, on who serious charges like rape and adultery have been filed, will be expelled from Sanatana Dharma Samvardhini Sabha. The above decision has been taken by Bharati Thirtha Swami, the pontiff of Sringeri Sharada Peetham during a meeting of pontiffs.

The meeting has concluded list of four decisions which was taken by seven seers, including Bharati Thirtha Swami.  

“For diviners, Shankara’s ‘Mathamnaya’ is the touchstone. It was chosen to oust the diviners carrying on with an existence that strays from the path and confronting serious allegations of rape and infidelity,” the minutes say, focusing on the requirement for reestablishing the status of such mutts. It is to be perceived how the choice will influence Raghaveshwara Bharati of Ramachandrapur Mutt, who is confronting charges of adultery.

Vidhushekhara Bharati Swami of Sringeri Sharada Peetham, Gangadharendra Saraswati Swami of Svarnavalli Mutt, Shankarabharati Swami of Yadatore Mutt, Sachchidananda Saraswati of Hariharapura Mutt were also present in the meeting.
