Self-Styled Godman’s Son Murdered in Bagalkot

Bagalkot: Son of a self-styled godman brutally murdered at Navalagi in Jamkhandi of Bagalkot district on Saturday following a property dispute, sources said. The deceased Chikkaiah Mattada (32) is a son of first wife of Daneshwara Swamiji of Balagopala Neelamanikya Mutt in Jamkhandi.

There was continues quarrel between the deceased and his father for the past a few years inconnection with the property of the mutt. Two years earlier, a murder attempt was made on the deceased at Kallolli village of Gokak taluk, however he was managed to escape from the danger. The local police have rushed into the crime spot and investigation is in progress inconnection with the murder, sources said.
