Senior citizen dies after car rams into a tree

Kundapur: An elderly man died after the car which he was driving rammed into a tree near Salvadi Nadubettu Cross in Kalavara village on Thursday, Dec 13th.

The deceased senior citizen is identified as Shanker Shetty (63). He was a former officer of Vijaya Bank and is survived by his wife, two daughters and a son.

The incident

Mr Shetty was driving his Santro Car from Kalavar to Bidkalkatte and en route, in a bid to avert a collision with an oncoming bike, he swerved his car, lost control and rammed into a tree. The collision was such that he suffered grievous injuries and though was rushed to the hospital, he lost his life on the way.
