Kalaburugi: Former Minister and senior Congress leader AB Malaka Reddy who quit the Congress party recently is likely to join the BJP soon, informed sources.

Speaking on the issue BJP State President and Opposition Leader in the Legislative Assembly BS Yeddyurappa on Thursday said that he met Malaka Reddy and discussed BJP’s strategy for the Kalaburugi constituency in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

It is gathered that senior Congress leader Mallikarjuna Kharge was shocked after Malaka Reddy quit Congress party as it may be a setback for him in the forthcoming elections.

Accusing Kharge of high handedness in the party’s decisions former minister Vaijanath Patil had also recently quit the Congress.
