Senior Journalist Ravi Belagere Flees to Unknown Location from Hospital in Dharwad

Dharwad: According to the sources, ‘Hai Bangalore’ Kannada tabloid Editor Ravi Belagere reportedly discharged and fled from SDM hospital in Dharwad on Monday morning to an unknown location to continue his medication for illness. The editor was admitted to the hospital on Saturday following some health issues and soon after his admission, a police team from Bengaluru arrived in Dharwad to arrest the senior journalist. The police camped at the hospital and finally returned to Bengaluru on Sunday following his illness. A day after departure of the police team, Ravi Belagere tactfully escaped from the hospital to an unknown location even if local police camped in the hospital.
Earlier, Karnataka legislative assembly speaker KB Koliwad announced one year jail for the editor after a legislature committee found his tabloid published derogatory content against a member of state legislature.
Based on the committee report, speaker Koliwad announced one year jail imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 against him.The editor reportedly discharged and fled from the hospital in the wake arrest order.
