Senior Theatre artist Sumitra Rai no more

Manjeshwar: Renowned Theatre artist Sumitra Rai passed away at her residence in Kunjathur on Monday, November 29 morning. She was 76.

Sumitra Rai was the wife of senior stage actor of Tulu and Kannada drama field and founder of Sri Nandikeshwara Nataka Sangha, Late P B Rai.

She acted in several dramas and movies in her career spanning over 50 years.

Sumitra also known as Baby, started her stage acting in the renowned Gubbi Veeranna drama company and Sri Nandikeshwara Nataka Sangha, which was founded by her husband.

She is survived by her son TV and stage actor Raghavendra Rai and daughter, Cinema, stage and TV actress Shobha Rai.
