Sirsi: Senior Yakshagana Bhagawatha Hosthota Manjunatha breathed his last owing to age-related ailments on Tuesday, January 7. He was 79.
The veteran artiste has written more than 250 Yakshagana ‘prasangas’ (scripts). He has organised several Yakshagana study camps for children, women and visually challenged people.
He had received Kendra Sangeetha Nataka Academy, Karnataka Rajyotsava award, Parthisubba Prashasthi and Janapada Academy special award.
His funeral rites will be conducted today, informed sources.
