Sep 2-3: Orange alert announced along karavali

Manipal: In the backdrop of possible heavy rains, the Indian Meteorological Department has announced ‘Orange Alert’ along the west coast of Karnataka, including Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttara Kannada districts for Sep 2nd and 3rd. the alert has been extended to Mumbai as well and ‘Yellow Alert’ has been announced for Sep 4th.

Ganesh Chaturthi is specially celebrated in the three districts of karavali and Mumbai, but if there is heavy rains as per the weather departments forecast, the preparations for the celebration of the festival may be hindered.

Kasaragod: Two days yellow alert

Kumble: At the same time, since good rains are expected in Kasaragod and Kannur districts for the period of two days, the weather department has announced ‘Yellow Alert’ here.

Besides, Yellow Alert has been announced to many other districts including kollum, Alappula, Kottayam, Ernakulum, Idukki, Malappuram, Kozhikode and Waynad. The departmet has also waned of strong winds due to the rain. The fishermen have been advised to not to enter the sea for fishing during the inclement weather.
