Serial theft at Talapady: Thieves target 6 shops

In yet another incident of theft, miscreants burgled six shops located near the national highway (NH) at Talapady on Friday, December 9 night.
The theft incident took place at shops run by belonging to Ashraf, Kuldeep, Sridhar, Mohammed and Shankar. The thieves decamped with cash and cigarettes from these shops after gaining entry by breaking the locks.
It is suspected that ganja addicts might be behind the theft. Earlier similar incidents took place at Manjeshwar and Kunjathur area.
Reportedly, a Maruti 800 car was seen moving suspiciously in the area during the night hours. Locals believe that the car was used in the crime and questioned the alertness of the highway patrol vehicle, Hoysala and beat police in checking these crimes.
