Seven crew members rescued from partially sunk boat

Mangaluru: Seven crew members of a boat, that had set sail for Lakshadweep Islands from Old Port here on Monday, December 31, were rescued from the partially sunk vessel on Tuesday night.
The boat ‘Faisal Hussain’, owned by Zabir was loaded with construction material and food items. The incident took place when it anchored near Kiltan Island.
The crew members alerted Zabir that the boat was on the verge of drowning whereafter another boat was despatched from Lakshadweep to rescue them. The materials on the boat however could not be salvaged.
