Davangere: In a tragic accident, a seven-year-old girl who tried to enact a scene from a daily soap set herself ablaze at her residence here.
She allegedly made a circle of a fire around her to dance but the flames engulfed her and claimed her life.
The deceased has been identified as Prarthana, class II student.
It has been reported that Prarthana along with her family used to watch a serial named Nandini. On November 11, when her mother was away she tried to enact a scene from the TV program where the character dances around fire.
When she was trying to enact the scene, allegedly her clothes caught fire. As her parents were not around, her younger sister tried to help her but was not successful. The neighbours who rushed to the scene extinguished the fire and took her to a nearby hospital.
