The victims including teachers and students registered a complaint with the child helpline. Following the complaint received, nodal child helpline director Vasudeva Sharma recorded the statements of the victims on the incident and informed police commissioner N Praveen Sood.

Later, a complaint was registered with DCP Chandragupta and the accused arrested based on the complaint. However, the principal was released within a day after his arrest.
