Sexual assault of minor: Madrasa teacher booked

Mangaluru: A case has been registered against a madrasa teacher from Puttur for allegedly performing unnatural sex and threatening a 12-year-old boy. The accused is identified as Ustad Anwar Moulavi.

On March 21st, a local resident sent tea and snacks through a 12-year-old boy to the teacher. The boy reached the madrasa at around 5pm and on reaching, the moulavi allegedly closed the door and performed unnatural sex and abused the minor. He then threatened to kill the boy, in case he told anyone about the incident. The accused repeated at act on April 7 at 8am when he again stopped the boy, prevented him from leaving the madrasa and sexually abused him, inform the police.

The crime was realized when the boy changed his usual behavior and stopped going to the madrasa and mosque to offer namaz. His mother observed the changed behavior and asked him the reason and the boy revealed the act.

The mother immediately approached Puttur Women’s Police Station on Friday a filed a complaint in this regard. A case has been registered under section 5 (F) and 6 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act 2012 and IPC section 377 (unnatural offences), 342 (wrongful confinement) and 506 (criminal intimidation).
