Sexual assault on minor boys: Chandra Hemmadi held guilty in 2 cases

Udupi: Chandra K. Hammadi, who is accused of sexually harassing several children, was found guilty by a POCSO Special Court in Udupi in two separate cases.
In the first case, a 15-year-old boy had been sexually assaulted in a bathroom. It was alleged that Chandra had taken the boy from the school playground on the pretext of taking him on a bike ride and sexually assaulted the boy. Based on the examination of 15 witnesses, the court held Chandra guilty in the case and sentenced him to 10 years in jail, and ordered a compensation of Rs 25,000 to the victim.
In the second instance, Chandra had taken a group of boys to a remote area on his bike for a photography session. He took one of the boys to a cave and sexually harassed him. In this case, the court sentenced Chandra to a jail term of 5 years. The victim was ordered a compensation of Rs 25,000.
There are still 18 cases pending against Chandra Hammadi.
